TRAINING:

We are currently able to offer a limited number of spots in our training program. Training includes 4-5 sessions/ week. My goal is to produce a soft, respectful, and trusting horse on the ground and in the saddle. I focus on releasing tension through body work, which will translate to smoother, more relaxed responses under saddle. I feel dressage is the foundation of any training no matter the discipline, so I work towards a horse that is straight and soft. Trail riding and schooling over fences, grids, and cross-country will be sprinkled in for variety as the horse’s skills permit.

Pony training is our specialty.

Training rates: $950 for standard 30 days of training. Additional days can be added for $35/day and will be due on the first of the month or before the horse is released back to the owner, whichever comes first. Additional service charges incurred are due on the first of the month or before the horse is released back to the owner, whichever comes first.

Board includes: Stall (straw bedding) and group turnout, weather permitting. We feed spelt grain and orchard grass hay. Owner is welcome to provide their own feed and/or supplements but they must be bagged, labeled, and secured in a tamper-proof container that will be returned. Additional fees: blanketing (provided by owner) $50/month; bell boots (provided by owner, removed while stalled) for turnout $40/month. Medications provided by owner: oral $5/day.

Progress reports: Communication is very important, and I enjoy providing owners with weekly updates on their horse’s progress. I will be clear, concise, and up front with the progress of your horse while I work with them. If you would like to visit your horse during training, please contact me to arrange a suitable time.

LESSONS:

I offer beginner to intermediate instruction in hunt seat, dressage and western. All instruction focuses on the rider’s balance in the saddle and how it effects the horses way of going. For a change of scenery we also trail ride.

Instruction also covers ground handling, tacking and untacking, and stable skills.

Students are responsible for wearing a properly fitted riding helmet and appropriate footwear. This includes any hard-soled boot that covers the ankle and has a low heel and flat sole such as cowboy boots or paddock boots. Please no sneakers.
